SEIKO PROSPEX CAPTAIN WILLARD - SPB151J1
SEIKO PROSPEX CAPTAIN WILLARD - SPB151J1
A reincarnation of the Seiko 6105, colloquially known as the "Captain Willard" for its role in the movie Apocalypse Now, has returned for the second time (the first time was in the form of the SLA033). But this time around, it's not a limited edition, and it's priced in line with the rest of the Prospex line. This is what a lot of Seiko fans have been waiting for.
The watch comes in two iterations: the black dial and bezel (SPB151) like the original and a variation featuring an olive-drab green dial and bezel (SPB153). Inside is Seiko's caliber 6R35 with an impressive 70-hour power reserve. And what's more is that the case is actually smaller and thinner than the original 6105. It's now 42.7mm across. The crystal is now slightly domed and features anti-reflective coating on the inside. A screw-down crown and stainless steel case contribute to 200 meters of water resistance.
The SPB151 comes on a bracelet, while a silicone strap is fitted to the SPB153.
